Greece to expand economic ties with Iran

Athens (CBI PR dept) – Greek deputy Prime Minister Yannis Dragasakis said in Athens on Thursday that Greece is eager to expand economic ties with Iran.


According to IRNA, Dragasakis further told Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif that Greek banks are willing to cooperate with Iran.
"We support Iranian investments in Greece and vice-versa and their cooperation", he said.
He also referred to Iran's special role in keeping regional stability and in implementation of accords, reached during historical trip of Prime Minister of Greece to Tehran in February 2016.

Seif in turn stressed on Tehran-Athens economic and banking cooperation and said Iranian 11th government is bent on the promotion of Iran's foreign economic ties.
He said banking relations will play a significant role in consolidation of bilateral economic ties. "Fortunately, positive steps have been taken for expansion of banking relations with Europe, including Greece".
Seif met Greek Minister of Energy and Environment on thursday. Also he will meet and confer with other Greek officials during his stay.
